Dec 1st is WORLD AIDS DAY and WHY are going to be every where.
The band have been invited to "take over" 92.9 KICK FM's Morning Show for WORLD AIDS DAY. From 6am to 9am Derek,Greg,Stephan and Brian will take control of KICK FM radio in Winnipeg and make KICK listeners see (RED).
"We were told we could come on and host the morning show,play whatever music we want and talk about anything we wish,..."stated Brian Cook(singer) last night."...that was their(KICK FM management)first mistake"(laughs)."We are going to pick our favorite songs and debut a few new tracks from our forthcoming album "RED" and play some stuff live in the studio. And we are going to talk about WORLD AIDS DAY,MAKE POVERTY HISTORY and most of all inform Winnipeg about (RED)."

Dear Make Poverty History supporter,
I wanted to inform you about and encourage you to participate in a Make
Poverty History Rally on Tuesday, October 17 from
4:00 to 5:00pm at Member of Parliament Rod Bruinooge 's Constituency
Office at 27-2855 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg .
The rally is in support his stance in favour of Make Poverty History and
to call for the government to end poverty in Canada and dedicate 0.7% of
GDP to international aid; and to reverse the recent cuts to social
programmes.
This event has been organized by the Canadian Federation of Students,

WHY will perform some new material to promote the forthcoming "RED" album due out this fall.
WHY have released the first single from their forthcoming CD "RED".
The title track "RED" is going out to radio in Canada,the U.S. and Europe over the next few days.

which should be aid's true purpose. Aid legislation will be debated
in Parliament on June 7, and you can act today to help move this
legislation quickly through the House.

Make Poverty History has called for more and better aid.
The UK has already passed similar legislation focusing its aid
spending on reducing poverty. Canada currently has no legislation on
foreign aid, even though all parties have expressed agreement that it
is long overdue.
On
June 7, the first (Bill C-293) of three Private Members' Bills on aid
legislation will be debated. Add your voice to those of many
Canadians who demand that such a Bill moves forward quickly to become
law.

WHY are signed on for a special concert and Video shoot for MAKE POVERTY HISTORY at TEC VOC High School in Winnipeg Friday May 26th 7pm.
Tickets are $7 in advance at the TEC VOC front office and $10 at the door.
MAKE POVERTY HISTORY and ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS will have booths set up at the show.(White MPH wristbands will be available).
Also WHY's MPH benefit CD "LAZARUS EFFECT" will be on sale.
THIS SHOW IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
This is hoped to be the beginning of a series of MPH concerts in schools.
WHY are in the studio recording and writing their next album and will use the concert as a chance to try out some of the new songs.
DRIVENATION and BROKEN HALO are on the bill as well.

WHY are currently in the studio writing and recording a new full
length album titled "RED".
"The song writing proccess is very improv,..." stated Brian(singer).
"...we've even added a couple of the songs to our live set
list,...REWIND/ERASE and CAN'T STAND FALLING have been getting some
stage time to iron out the bugs.We are very excited about the feel of
this cd.It has a lot of emotion and great musical colour. I can't wait
for the title track to come out,and a recent writing session has
produced a great song called YOU'RE MORE. We are in a writing frenzy
right now!"
The band hope to release something this year, fall is the hope for
"RED" to hit stores.

WHY appeared on SHAW TV Thursday Feb 9th to promote an upcoming benefit concert for the KENYA MISSION with HIV/AIDS. The interview and performance was a first for many reasons,..but most of all a first performance of a recently written song "CAN'T STAND FALLING". It was a debut as the band had never played the song before an audience. The song was a raw version that later that week was excitedly received by a sold out crowd at the KENYA MISSION CONCERT. The response to the SHAW TV appearance helped push ticket sales for the Sat benefit and the crowd was treated to 3 live debuts,..."CAN'T STAND FALLING","LAZARUS EFFECT" and the new(heavy rocker)"REWIND/ERASE". Tootall,a DJ who has been there since 1977 and his show "Made in Canada", which he has been doing for 15 years, showcases rising stars based out of this great country. He prides himself on being one of the first, if not THE first, to interview tomorrow's big stars. WHY are truly honoured to be interview by this radio legend and be heard on a radio station with the history CHOM FM has.

The boys just finished a cover of a tradition Christmas carol written in
1867 "I HEARD THE BELLS ON CHRISTMAS DAY" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
It has been covered in the past by Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra, but WHY has
done the first actual Rock version of this carol of "Peace on Earth Good Will
to Men". The song is meant to encourage and inspire and hopefully you will be
as the band have been.

The photo shoot for the new CD went well on Sunday.
The new line-up did their first photo shoot and the shoots came out really well.
"They(Derek,Greg and Steph)are very cool guys,and look better than me."said Brian on Monday."...I can hide my lack of cool by riding on their well groomed coat tails."
The photos will be used in the cover art for the upcoming "KEEP OUR PEACE" benefit E.P.for MAKE POVERTY HISTORY.(Due out in Nov 2005).
